Rhinoceros viper
A large, thick-bodied poisonous snake, Bitis nasicornis, that inhabits damp, swampy tropical forests in Central Africa. The rhinoceros viper is closely related to the gaboon viper in the family Viperidae and is as beautifully patterned. An erect double horn above the nostrils, made of enlarged scales, gives the snake its name.
