Hiya Ralf!

Excellent choice there! I use a Nikon Coolscan 3 - LS30, so you can see the
results for yourself. A word of warning though, the software with this
scanner has no auto white balance, so you have to do all the colour
balancing manually! With negative film, the scanner seems to be pretty well
set up OK from the factory, and just needs minor tweaks depending on the
brand and speed of film, but with Slides, it's way off, and I had to spend
a day just trying to get things sorted. When you get it, if you have
trouble, I'll EMail you my setup files, so you'll have somthing to go on.

Good luck!

Yours. Pont.
Ps. For added incentive, attached is a pic scanned at 1350DPI, that's half
the scanners resolution, but the pic size is not squashed. Warning, it's
BIG! This was scanned form Kodachrome K200 slide film.

Ps. Having trouble with my BT ISP at the moment,
it seems far too slow so I'm stuck to using Freeserve.
Either EMail address will reach me. Thanks.
