The following 4 photos show different angles of a strange looking
caterpillar I found crawling along my path. My first thoughts were that the
strange looking thing on it's head was a parasite, but when you see the back
view it looks like dry skin, so I suspect maybe it never hatched properly
from it's pupa, or would it be the egg. The caterpillar makes a pupa and
then becomes a moth or butterfly doesn't it? Now I am just confused. What
do you think? Betty |
