About your asking for a standard encoding method:

I use the smallest Macintosh PowerPC (5260CD) and the only way I can
recover some of these posts, in this group and others, is with the
Apple CyberDOG 2.0 browser. I'm non technical and really don't
understand the ins and outs of the thing but when I get stuck this is
the way I've found. I have to "translate" the files into more standard
form afterwards, it's tedious but at least it works.

I think that they want their photos to "open up" right out rather than
have the people have to click on some file name and icon ???

If you get stuck, I'll be happy to e-mail a "translated" file to
either .gif or .jpg so that your PC sopftware can use them.

Check out www.downloads. com: about three or four days ago, they had
the full PC edition of Photoshop 4 up for free grabs... I couldn't
believe it: that's about C$800 or more in Canada. The Macintosh
edition they offered was only an upgrade...

I think this Photoshop 4.0 could do a lot where you have to handle
visual stuff onyour computer. I don't have it but everybody who owns a
Mac dreams of having it...

Best to you,
