덤불멧돼지(Potamochoerus porcus)는 멧돼지과에 속하는 야생 멧돼지의 일종이다. 부시피그라고도 한다.
털의 빛깔은 주황색 내지 적갈색이며 배와 주둥이 부분은 흰색이다. 몸길이 약 100~140cm, 몸무게 55~150kg이다. 귀에 억센 털이 있다. 야행성이며 가족 단위로 생활하며 12마리가 평균적이나 어떤 무리는 20마리 정도의 가족을 이루어 산다. 사하라 사막의 이남의 아프리카 전역과 마다가스카르의 사바나 또는 소택지, 강가에 널리 분포한다. 수명은 약 20년이다. |
