Looking more vegetable than animal, the sargassum fish is well adapted to life among the floating clumps of seaweed that drift on the surface of the Sargasso Sea in the central Atlantic Ocean. It clambers about among the weed like a monkey in a tree, using its muscular, hand-like pectoral and ventral fins, and attracts its prey by flourishing the lure above its eyes. |
