The red-eared firetail (Stagonopleura oculata) is a species of estrildid finch found in the forests and coastal thickets of south-western Australia. Distribution:
SW Western Australia from Darling Range S to Manjimup and Pemberton, and E along coast to Cape Le Grand National Park and Israelite Bay. Order: Passeriformes, Family: Estrildidae, Genus: Stagonopleura, Species: Stagonopleura oculata (Quoy & Gaimard, 1830).
