Large tree shrews have a body length between 16.5 and 32 cms (6.5 - 12.5 inches), a tail length between 12 and 22 cms (5 - 8.7 inches) and they weigh between 154 and 305 g (5.4 - 10.75 inches).
They are reddish brown in colour with an almost black rump and a dark dorsal stripe. They have large eyes and good senses of hearing, smell and vision. |
