Heaviside's dolphin (Cephalorhynchus heavisidii)

The Heaviside's dolphin, also called Haviside's dolphin, is one of the least known cetaceans, and one of the smallest. The second word of its scientific name is in honor of the Captain Haviside, who carried a dolphin specimen to the United Kingdom in the 19th century.

It is important to know that from this perspective, the correct name of this dolphin would be “Haviside’s dolphin” since that is the proper spelling of the captain’s name. But his name was confused with that of another person whose name was Heaviside, and this one has lasted until the present time.
