아르마딜로 Tolypeutes tricinctus (Brazilian three-banded armadillo)
아르마딜로과에 딸린 야행성 포유동물. 몸길이 40~70cm이며 등은 갑옷 모양의 많은 골질판으로 덮여 있다. 적을 만나면 몸을 둥글게 말아 제 몸을 지킨다. 앞발에 단단한 발톱이 있어서 이것으로 구멍을 파 개미, 곤충, 달팽이, 지렁이 따위를 잡아먹는다. 남아메리카, 열대 아메리카의 삼림이나 건조지에 분포한다.

| I think this animal a an individual of the genus Dasypus - the nine-banded armadillos, not a member of the three banded-armadillos. Please compare the bands and the length of the ears, and the lenght of the tail etc. Best regards Klaus |
