[분류] 뱀목(Squamata) 살모사과(Viperidae) 방울뱀아과(Crotalinae)에 딸린 다이아몬드방울뱀의 하나.

캐롤라이나주 남부, 조지아주, 플로리다주, 루이지애나 동부 등지의 미국 동남부에 분포한다. 주로 해안가의 저지대에 서식하며 바다로 들어가 헤엄치기도 한다.
