Early afternoon we made a final walk from one end of the patch of forest to the other and finally received a response from a
Lanceolated Monklet
, having tried several times earlier in the day. Whilst watching one bird another flew out of the forest to perch on a post only a few metres from us and allowed itself to be photographed for a couple of minutes.

A little further down the road we heard and saw a third

, which for such a rare bird was almost unbelievable. Upon reaching a bridge over the river we found several
Buff-rumped Warblers
on the rocks in the water and Jose spotted a
Rufous Motmot |
