Aethopyga temminckii (Temminck's sunbird)
Temminck’s sunbird (Aethopyga temminckii) is a delightful species of sunbird found in the tropical moist montane forests of Borneo, Sumatra, West Malaysia, and southwest Thailand. The Temminck’s sunbird measures approximately 10 cm (female) to 12.5 cm (male) in length. The longer-tailed male is mostly scarlet, except for a greyish belly, yellow and purple bands between the back and tail, and four purple bands on the head emanating from the beak. The female is drab olive, with rufous fringes on the wing and tail feathers.
