Copperhead racer (Coelognathus radiatus)
The copperhead racer (Coelognathus radiatus) is a non-venomous, diurnal snake found in Southeast Asia and parts of South Asia, characterized by its coppery-coloured head with three radiating stripes, a dark band across the nape and a greyish or brownish body with distinct black stripes on the anterior half. Known for its speed and aggressive defensive display of inflating its throat, striking, and even playing dead, this snake primarily eats rodents, birds, lizards and frogs. |
