Subject: Large lizard found not yet extinct

There was a newsitem on dutch television about a large species of lizard
thought to be extinct for some 500 years but rediscovered on the Canary
Islands on the island Gomera. 6 individuals were captured of Galliota
gomerana. It is assumed this is the whole population so they are pretty
endangered.
They were studied in captivity and will be released again under surveillance.
The species grows to 50 cm.
They are slow and threatened by predation by cats.
I made some video-captures of the news-item.
