This is not a moth but a butterfly of some kind
You can tell by the way they fold their wings
Alas, I do not know what species of butterfly it is

You are right. This is definitely a butterfly of Nymphalidae family.
This family has somewhat unique feature -- reduced (looking even
absent) forelegs. You can clearly see this on the photo:
four legs, not six. Very nice photo, by the way.
The way butterflies and moths fold wings is very characteristic
indeed but I think the shape of antenna is what defines them
officially.
