Indo-Pacific sailfish (Istiophorus platypterus)
The Indo-Pacific sailfish (Istiophorus platypterus) is most abundant in waters relatively near the continents and the Indo-Pacific landmasses bordering the Pacific, and is less frequently encountered on the high seas. The stock structure of the Indo-Pacific sailfish in the Pacific is well known. The populations in the eastern and western Pacific are genetically distinct. |
