melon-headed whale (Peponocephala electra)

Description
Found between Balicasag Island and Alona Beach, they only stayed on the surface for a minute or so before doing a deep dive. We waited around for 20 mins but we didn't see them again.

The melon-headed whale (Peponocephala electra), also known as many-toothed blackfish, "melon whale" or electra dolphin, is a cetacean of the oceanic dolphin family (Delphinidae). It is closely related to the pygmy killer whale and pilot whale, and collectively these dolphin species are known by the common name blackfish. It is also related to the false killer whale. Melon-headed whales are widespread throughout the world's tropical waters, although not often seen by humans because they prefer deep water. Order: Artiodactyla, Infraorder: Cetacea, Family: Delphinidae, Genus: Peponocephala, Species: Peponocephala electra (Gray, 1846).
