TONGAN MEGAPODE, MALAU (Megapodius pritchardii)
DESCRIPTION:
A plain, grey-brown chickenlike bird with short crest. The tail is short and the orangeyellow legs are distinctively sturdy. The head appears disproportionately small with a strong yellow bill. Immature birds are brown above with dark tan marking and pale buff below.
