MAIN CAPTION:
A FEMALE CROCODILE or alligator lays her eggs in a shallow pit on a riverbank, covers them with soil, and guards them while they develop. When they are ready to hatch, the young make squeaking noises. The mother takes the young to the water.

SUB-CAPTION:
HATCHING OUT - Crocodile eggs hatch in about three months. The mother carefully carries her newly hatched young to a special nursery area, when she guards them.
