Buff-throated saltator

recording of the
sweet
whistling song of a Buff-throated saltator
in the Bakhuis
area in April 2006. It eats mainly fruit and flowers and is
easier heard than seen. The Buff-throated saltator is found in
forests and on the savanna, whereas its cousin the
Grayish Saltator
is found in the coastal
area.
Each small square indicates the observation of at least one
(group) of these birds, the medium ones at least 4 observations
on different days and the largest ones 10 or more. The color of
each square indicates: blue for coastal area, yellow for savanna
and red for rainforest.
