Dragon hoax
In December of 2003, a British man named David Hart claimed to have
discovered a winged reptile preserved in formaldehyde hidden in his garage.
Hart had told the press that the pickled dragon had been offered to the
Natural History Museum at the end of the 19th Century by the Germans. It was
later revealed that the entire thing was an elaborate hoax designed to
promote a friend's book.
