* Butoroides javanica = Butorides striata javanica (striated heron)

The striated heron (Butorides striata syn. Butorides striatus) is a small heron, about 44 cm tall, found in tropical and subtropical regions of Asia, Africa, and South America. The striated heron is mostly non-migratory and is known for its interesting behavioral traits. Its breeding habitat is small wetlands in the tropics, such as mangroves, and it feeds on fish, insects, and crustaceans. The striated heron has a blue-grey back and wings, white underparts, a black cap, and a dark line extending from the bill to under the eye. The sexes are alike, and juveniles are browner above and streaked below. The striated heron is one of three closely related species placed in the genus Butorides. The subspecies Butorides striata javanica is found in tropical and subtropical regions of Asia, from Pakistan, India, and Sri Lanka to Thailand, the Philippines, and Indonesia 12. It is also found in the Mascarene Islands (Reunion, Mauritius, and Rodrigues).
Order: Pelecaniformes > Family: Ardeidae > Genus: Butorides > Species: Butorides striata

* Butoroides flavicollis= Ixobrychus flavicollis (black bittern)

The black bittern (Ixobrychus flavicollis) is a bird of Old World origin, found in tropical Asia from Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka to China, Indonesia, and Australia. The black bittern is mainly resident, but some northern black bitterns migrate short distances. It breeds in reed beds and nests on platforms of reeds in shrubs or trees. The adult black bittern is uniformly black above, with yellow neck sides, and whitish below, heavily streaked with brown. It has a longish neck and long yellow bill. The juvenile is like the adult, but dark brown rather than black. Black bitterns feed on insects, fish, and amphibians.
Order: Pelecaniformes > Family: Ardeidae > Genus: Ixobrychus > Species: Ixobrychus flavicollis
