The Indian fritillary (Argynnis hyperbius) is a nymphalid butterfly with a wingspan of 60-66 mm. The upperside of the wings is pale orange-brown with many black spots and a black band on the wing edge enclosing orange-brown streaks. Underneath the forewing is pinkish-orange with numerous black spots, and underneath the hindwing is pale brown, laced with black and silver markings and greenish-brown spots. |
