The head coloring is very strange (were is the eye?),
but I think the bird that comes closes
is a Black Tern (Chlidonias niger) that is beginning to molt it's
feathers. Found one picture showing the bird in a similar coloring,
checking about 5 different field guides all showing slight
differences. The white on the front part of the wing
(shoulders, upper arms) do match, as is the
black belly and white rump. Chick and eggs
indicate it is a tern in any case.
The bird might have been drawn after a poorly stuffed
specimen. Surroundings are also quite different
from their breeding places here in the Netherlands
were they breed in marshes on vegetation just above the
water.
