The flamingo tongue is a small marine snail that lives in coral reefs in the western Atlantic Ocean. This species is very colourful, with bright pink or orange colouration and black spots. Interestingly, these colours are not associated with the shell, which is somewhat drab. Instead, the colour comes from the marine snail's soft tissue, which is almost always wrapped around the entire outside of the shell. |
