The semi-musical, ringing calls of this handsome parrot are highly distinctive. Its black crown contrasts with orange-yellow cheeks and throat, and darker orange nape. Belly white, thighs yellow, upperparts white. Forms small flocks that dart through forest canopy, sometimes emerging into clearings or above rivers. Rather tame when foraging; some flocks members act as sentinels. |
