Hi:
We had a dog that lived with us that looked remarkably
like these dogs, only he had a bobbed tail.
I noticed from your trivia that there are some breeds
that have bobbed tails.
Can you tell me which, and how we may adopt another.

Our dog looks exactly like this except he has a curly tail
like an Akita and has shorter legs. He is about 60 pounds,
and has a very good temperment. He's great with our kids,
but whenever they run he chases them down and nips at their
heels and backs until he knocks them down. Once they are down,
he walks away and doesn't hurt them, but I was thinking that
this was some kind of herding instinct. I think our dog is
probably mixed with some other breed, but I can't identify
what it is. Also, he is extremely protective of members of our
family. If he feels that any one of us is being threatened,
but will try to attack. He has attacked my Father's dog because
he thought that the other dog was barking at me. Other than this,
he is a great pet, very affectionate and good-natured.We got him
from a friend when he was 6 weeks old. Our friend said that he
was German Shepherd and Collie, but it soon became obvious he
was niether!
