"One-legged" bird with Attitude - Eurasian Stone-curlew (Burhinus oedicnemus)

This one was trying to stare me and the camera down. I don't know what kind
it is, but I'm guessing it's some kind of wading bird. It was very small,
maybe less than 10" tall.

It may be a sand piper, looks sort of like one.

Nice shot! I'm sure it's some sort of Thick-Knee or Stone Curlew. My
reference book says there are 9 species, but I believe they all look rather
similar - so I've no idea which it is.

Eurasian Stone-curlew Burhinus oedicnemus is the northern representative of the Stone-curlews, waders in the family Burhinidae.
