I am excited! "First blood" with Fuji New Superia 400 - Tiger cub in Hannover Zoo
Hi everybody,
the first pic I have ever scanned off a Fuji New Superia 400 negative
has just left my scanner, and I am pretty excited how fine this film
works in the scanner! I had shot several Superia 400 last year and had
gotten used to their displaying very unnatural "candy like" colors that
were hard and time consuming to repair. Now look at this. Not only did
this one require minimum post-scan correction - this picture was taken
through a milky glass wall that stole about half of the contrast, and
still the shadows do not sink into posterization although the Coolscan
"expanded" the contrasts a lot. The Konica Centuria 400 I've been using
so far is good but the pic you can see here certainly is a strong
argument for a change :-)
See ya -
Ralf
