The small tortoiseshell (Aglais urticae) is a colourful Eurasian butterfly in the family Nymphalidae. It is found throughout temperate Europe, Asia Minor, Central Asia, Siberia, China, Mongolia, Korea and Japan. The small tortoiseshell is the national butterfly of Denmark.
The European stag beetle (Lucanus cervus) is the best-known species of stag beetle (family Lucanidae) in Western Europe, and is the eponymous example of the genus. |
