Well, this must be the hot shot: this represents
the Olm in waters beneath the earthsoil in the
Karst-mountains. Happy now?

I HAVE PURCHASED A SALAMANDER FOR MY SON. IT WAS CALLED A
"WATER DOG" BY THE PET STORE PEOPLE. IT LOOKS SOMEWHAT LIKE
THIS OLM AND IT ALSO LOOKS A LITTLE LIKE A MUDPUPPY BUT
THE GILLS ARE NOT "FEATHERY" BUT MORE LIKE A CROWN.iS
IS IT A CLOSE RELATIVE OF THE MUD PUPPY.
ANY LEADS WOULD BE APPRECIATED
