White-bearded manakin

The
sound of a group of
white-bearded manakins
has been recorded on a so called 'lek'
of this bird: a dancing place, where the females come to look at
the males, who jump between small twigs while they make a
characteristic sound with their wings (in this recording about 30
birds were flying around low in the bushes at Mapane, Suriname).
Now and then the females will dance with the males on a clean
piece of forest floor and copulate near the lek.
Observations of this manakin. Blue in the coastal area, yellow
in savanna and red in the forest.
