In french, we precisely called him a "Bateleur" Eagle. And this pic was my FIRST photo of Eagle took in the course of the last summer 2004.

The bateleur eagle or bateleur (Terathopius ecaudatus) is a medium-sized eagle in the family Accipitridae. Terathopius ecaudatus is endemic to Africa and small parts of Arabia. "Bateleur" is French for "Street Performer".
