 Description
Table Of Contents: The Brown Pelican is the only exclusively marine member of the pelican family, and the only one that regularly dives for its food. Although it nests on the Atlantic coast from North Carolina to Venezuela, and on the Pacific from southern California to Chile, its numbers are steadily decreasing. Pesticides in water running off farmlands have caused the eggs to become thin-shelled and fragile, and this has resulted in the failure of whole colonies
