Kiang, also called the Tibetan wild ass, wild Asian ass found in the mountains of Tibet and Sikkim up to 5486m (18,000ft). The most numerous of all wild asses, it is brown and white in summer and dun-coloured in winter. Height: 1.5m (5ft) at the shoulder. Family Equidae: species Equus kiang. |
