Description
Table Of Contents: Biologist Sheila Eyler from the FWS Maryland Fisheries Resource Office, Annapolis, MD is tagging a female horseshoe crab on Bowers Beach, Delaware. The male and female horseshoe crabs come up during high tides, couple together, and spawn on the beach. Sheila is drilling a small hole into the larger female (in front) with a portable drill and then the plastic identification tag is riveted into the hole. This helps biologists track the movements and life histories of this little known species. ( electronic image) Photo taken: June 9, 2002/Robert Pos
