Superb starling (Lamprotornis superbus)


The superb starling is a common sight around settlements in East Africa. It even occurs in the centre of large cities, such as Nairobi in Kenya. Unafraid of humans, it strides across the ground to pick edible scraps from the urban litter, as well as snatching ants and termites from patches of grass.
