Aspidites melanocephalus, commonly known as the black-headed python, is a species of snake in the family Pythonidae (the python family). The species is native to Australia. Order: Squamata, Suborder: Serpentes, Family: Pythonidae, Genus: Aspidites, Species: Aspidites melanocephalus (Krefft, 1864).

This range includes a majority of the Northern Territory, the northern latitudes of Queensland and the northern third of Western Australia.
