Huge moth - moth.jpg

Has anybody seen this huge moth, or know anything about this?
Just curious, as it was perched on the side of our house.

TIA

Hi Rich,

Your moth appears to be a Polyphemus Moth (Antheraea polyphemus).
It's normal range is east of the Rocky Mountains from Canada to
Mexico. It's name Polyphemus is from the one-eyed gaint of Greek
Myths. Great picture!

Hope this helps!

P.S.: The tape measure appears to be Stanley model # ..... :-)
