These attractive little snakes are thought to be an isolated intergrade of the Eastern Milksnake(L.t.triangulum) and the Scarlet Kingsnake(L.t.elapsoides). There is some question by certain authorities if it warrants it's own subspecific name. There are several known localities where these occur in the northeast region of the country, and most captive breeders keep the different forms locality pure. This specimens bloodline is from the Calvert county area of Maryland. |
