This snake slithered up to our porch and hid under a fishing basket... I removed the basket very slowly and it did not move. This snake is about 10 inches long, probably a newly hatched snake.
We live in a wooded area bordered by a river.
These snakes are nonvenomous constrictor snakes and get to be about 24-26 inches. They eat small rodents, mice, birds, lizards and other venomous snakes. They will also eat earthworms and frogs.
