D:\Microcosmos\Butterfly] [3/3] - 111.jpg (1/1) (Video Capture)
Many insects spend most of their lives as caterpillars. These
caterpillars seem to eat non-stop all day. But the moment they
turn adults, they stop eating and set on to search for mating
partners. An insect is most colorful in the final stages of its life.
Eating may be no longer a life-or-death matter to fully grown insects,
but they must still eat flower nectar in order to lay eggs.
A butterfly has a long mouth shaped like a straw. It keeps its mouth
rolled up but extends it when it smells flowers. |
