Lesser Kiskadee in Suriname
The photo above the text was made by Erik Toorman in July 2007
on the grounds of the adek university in Paramaribo. The photo
below was made along the Coesewijne river, just above the water,
in Suriname March 2001 by Ribot. The Lesser Kiskadee prefers wet
places, especially marshes in the coastal area. It has a smaller,
longer bill than the more common Great Kiskadee and a different
call. In the recording from Otte Ottema, made in a swamp near
Palumeu in Suriname, you hear the "kiskadee" sound of
