In a neighbouring tank a the National Marine Aquarium, Plymouth was this
incredible Frogfish (Antennarius species),
I expect most people would say it is the ugliest animal posted to this group
for a long time - but I won't apologise: it is a marvellous creature which
is just as well camouflaged and as well equipped for catching its prey as a
Tiger or a Rattlesnake.
Note the white tuft on its 'fishing rod' which lures smaller fishes into
range of its jaws - and what jaws they are!
