This group of domesticated turkeys resides on a farm in Wallenstein, Ontario. Some of these turkeys may have a future in the United States, where an estimated 86 million birds are consumed annually.

The domesticated turkey is a large poultry bird raised for food. The modern domesticated turkey descends from the wild turkey (Meleagris gallopavo), one of the two species of turkey (genus Meleagris). Despite the name, turkeys have no relation to the country of Turkey and are instead native to North America. |
