Northern Eagle Owl - Mottled plumage
WITH A WINGSPAN of more than 5 feet (1.5m), this bird is one of the world's largest owls. It hunts by night, and its prey includes small deer and birds up to the size of ducks. Its plumage varies in color but is always heavily streaked. This camouflages it during the day, when it roosts in trees.

=========
The Eurasian eagle-owl (Bubo bubo) is a species of eagle-owl that resides in much of Eurasia. It is also called the Uhu and it is occasionally abbreviated to just the eagle-owl in Europe. Eurasian eagle-owls are found in many habitats, but are mostly birds of mountainous regions or other rocky areas, often those near varied woodland edge and shrubby areas with openings or wetlands to hunt a majority of their prey. Bubo bubo is one of the most widely distributed of all owl species.
