흰코뿔소 Ceratotherium simum
코뿔소과에 딸린 동물. 몸길이 3.6m, 어깨 높이 1.5~2m이고 2개의 뿔을 가지고 있다. 사바나와 관목이 있는 평원에 서식하며 단독 생활인 경우도 있으나 보통은 작은 무리를 지어 생활한다. 남아프리카와 중앙아프리카의 일부에 분포한다.

The white rhinoceros, white rhino or square-lipped rhinoceros (Ceratotherium simum) is the largest extant species of rhinoceros. It has a wide mouth used for grazing and is the most social of all rhino species. An alternative name for the white rhinoceros, more accurate but rarely used, is the square-lipped rhinoceros.
