An animal, or more exactly speaking, a colony of animals, that floats at the surface of warm seas. The transparent "float," blue, purple and crimson tinted, sails before the wind, trailing long retractile filaments. Preparation of model by Mr. H. Mliller, glass blower, and Mr. S. Shimotori, colorist, of the American Museum. Model on exhibition in the Darwin hall.
