Actually, if we are talking about the Happy99 thingy, then it is not
really a virus at all. It is actually a Trojan, an exe file which
must be executed in order for it to have any effect on your system.
In this case it goes under the name of Happy99.exe but can easily be
renamed for disguise. The rule of thumb is DO NOT download any exe
files. Posting exe files will only get you flamed, bigtime. There is
a little program called Super Snooper which will open the command
lines of exe files and you can tell if there is anything amiss.
I had the misfortune of executing one of these little gems and the
next thing I knew, all my Windows files were being deleted before my
very eyes! Had to format and reload (Win95). Ya live and ya learn,
in this case first hand and not from someone else's mistake(s).
Check out Symantec's webpage (home of Norton antivirus) for more info
on Happy99 to find out what it does.
BTW, Pat, that is no way to respond to a message. You look as
ignorant as the original poster.
Now lets keep this NG down to fish pics, OK?
Here are a few from my area.(West coast Vanciuver Island)
Albacore tuna (Thunnus alalunga) caught by commercial troller.
Quillback rockfish (Sebastes maliger)
Redtail surfperch (Amphistichus rhodoterus)
Shortraker rockfish (Sebastes borealis)
Vermillion rockfish (Sebastes miniatus) |
